Top 5 Communication Apps in Turkey on Android in Q2 2021

In the second quarter of 2021, the leading communication apps on the Android platform in Turkey exhibited diverse trends in terms of weekly downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of the top 5 apps.

WhatsApp Messenger saw consistent weekly downloads, with figures ranging from around 112K to 167K. The highest downloads were recorded in the week of May 31, reaching approximately 167K. Active users showed a steady upward trend, starting at 33M at the beginning of the quarter and peaking at about 33.8M by the end of June.

Telegram experienced a high point in weekly downloads during the week of May 10, with around 201K downloads. However, downloads declined in subsequent weeks, stabilizing around 100K by the end of June. Active users also demonstrated a downward trend, starting from about 8.9M and decreasing to approximately 7.9M by the end of the quarter.

Snapchat maintained a relatively stable download rate throughout the quarter, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 102K and 134K. Active users showed a gradual increase, starting from around 9.4M and reaching approximately 9.6M by the end of June.

Getcontact saw a significant surge in weekly downloads in mid-June, peaking at about 520K. This increase was reflected in the active users' data, which showed a jump from around 18K to 706K in the same period. Revenue also saw an upward trend, starting from $6 at the end of May and increasing to approximately $607 by the end of June.

Finally, Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out experienced a slight decline in weekly downloads, starting from around 86K at the beginning of the quarter and dropping to about 56K by the end of June. Active users showed a similar trend, starting from 2.4M and slightly decreasing to approximately 2.4M by the end of the quarter. Revenue reached its peak in late April, with approximately $10.5K, before gradually decreasing to around $4.5K by the end of June.
